KNMA Park Testing
The next testing for belt promotion will be on Saturday June 15th and will be a very special event. ALL dojo students – even those not ready to test – are encouraged to attend.
Location:
NOT at Dragon and Crane Dojo
NOT at Ken Nagayama Martial Arts in Burbank
Valley Village Park

(west side of 170 fwy just off Magnolia exit – see attached)
Time:
The event will have 3 parts:
- Group Photo @ 8:15 AM: all students, including those not testing, are encouraged to participate. Please arrive by 8:00 AM and in uniform. Photos will be available for sale after testing.
- Testing @ 8:30 AM: students who are testing should be ready to start testing immediately after the photo. Students not testing can change clothing and are encouraged to stay to watch and support their classmates.
- Pot Luck Picnic ~11:00 AM: after testing, all students and families are welcome to eat with and get to know the entire KNMA and DC Dojo community.
Once again, ALL students are welcome and encouraged to attend. If you’ve been to KNMA school in Burbank, you can see photos taken every year since the studio opened in 1988.
If you can only attend part of the event, please prioritize the photo. Also, students and families are welcome and encouraged to form carpools, both for logistical and social benefits.
Testing Eligibility:
- Students must get permission from Mr. Chung in order to test.
- Readiness is based on attendance, mastery of material, and personal growth since starting current belt.
Registration:
- Registration and payment deadline is Friday June 14th.
- See attached doc for fees, which is inclusive of belt.
- Participation does NOT guarantee passing.
Dojo Closure:
There will be NO classes the weekend of testing at either DC Dojo or KNMA.
