Back-to-School Puzzle Contest

Back-to-School Puzzle Contest

Dear Dojo Community,

With LAUSD back in session, we are pleased to announce a special back-to-school program.

We have created a custom 500-piece jigsaw puzzle using the group photo from last May’s class at Dearborn Park. All students and parents are welcome and encouraged to contribute towards solving the puzzle, whether or not they participated in the park class.

Moreover, Mr. Hofmann, a black belt instructor from KNMA school, has kindly donated an assortment of school supplies for our students. We are distributing those school supplies as rewards to students for connecting pieces of the puzzle.

Contest

Students are to keep count of the number of times they connect a piece to another. As they pass certain milestones, they can claim a school supply item:

  • 1 piece: small prize
  • 3 pieces: small prize
  • 6 pieces: small prize
  • 10 pieces: large prize
  • 15 pieces: large prize

Small prizes: pencil, pen, glue stick
Large prizes: mechanical pencil, eraser, sharpener, 8pc marker set

The first student to 25 pieces will win a secret grand prize.

Rules

  • Parents are welcome to work on the puzzle, but their matches will not count towards student prizes
  • Placing a single piece into a corner that matches 2 or more other pieces simultaneously counts as only 1 piece
  • No cash value or IOUs if supplies run out

Good luck and happy back to school!
