Movie: Rocky (1976)
Rocky is the mother of all underdog stories. If you only know the series from the louder, dumber sequels (I’m looking at you, Rocky IV), you might be surprised to find this a quietly thoughtful character study of the difference between losing and being a loser. Rocky might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you hear “martial arts movie”, but it is as essential viewing as the best of Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee.
We will serve light refreshments and drinks before the movie, then follow up with a Rocky-style push-up contest.
Parents, any assistance would be greatly appreciated – a volunteer signup sheet will be posted on the board.
