Oct Triple Events
Dear Dojo Community,
We have 3 events coming up in October:
- Sat 5/Sun 6: JCMA Tournament (Dojo OPEN)
- Fri 11/Sat 12: Testing (Dojo CLOSED)
- Sat 19: Dojo Picnic – Dojo @ Dearborn Park

Sat 5-Sun 6: JCMA Tournament
When:
Sat Oct 5 @ 10am: CHILDREN (11 and under)
Sun Oct 6 @ 10am: JUNIORS and ADULTS (12 and older)
Where:
Jun Chong Martial Arts Academy

Who: open to all students (prior tournament experience recommended)
If interested please speak with Mr. Chung for rules and registration
Dojo will remain open for classes
Fri 12-Sat 13: Belt Testing
When:
Fri Oct 11th:
- 6pm for White belts
- 7pm for Yellow belts
Sat Oct 12th:
- 9:30am for Intermediate belts
- 11:0am for Advanced belts
Where:
** NOT at Dragon and Crane Dojo **
Testing will occur at our affiliate partner school:
- Ken Nagayama Martial Arts

Who:
- Not all students will be ready to test
- Permission must be granted from Mr. Chung
- Readiness is based mastery of material, growth since starting current belt, and attendance
Registration:
- Registration and payment deadline is Thursday Oct 10th
- boards for breaking must be purchased separately and practiced successfully prior to testing
- See attached doc for fees, which is inclusive of belt
- Participation does NOT guarantee passing
If for any reason you are unable to make it to Burbank for the testing, please notify Mr. Chung immediately.
Dojo closed Fri and Sat
Sat 19: Dojo Picnic with KNMA San Fernando
Rescheduled from Sept 14.
Again, we will be joined by Mr. Lopez and his students from KNMA San Fernando.
When
10:30am – Push Up Contest
11:00am – Joint Class (all belts, all ages, no sparring)
12 noon – Potluck Picnic

A signup sheet will be posted to the dojo bulletin board to coordinate bringing food to share as well as picnic supplies (eg folding table, shade, board games, etc)
